CURRENT SOLO EXHIBIT

November - December 2011
Arlington Central Library main lobby

PORTALS:
an exhibit of fused glass and mixed media wearable art, altar pieces, and holiday gifts

Glass is a visible, tangible expression of the great dance between Earth and Light – the core component of any glass is silica, a kind of quartz.

New work in this exhibit includes Spirit Women pendants/altar pieces, Hearts, and When the Veil Became a Net of Stars.

Some of this Portals glass was infused with the energies of a particular full moon or new moon, especially at times of a solstice, eclipse, or a powerful astronomical alignment. (The Druids saw solar eclipses as key to recreating the world: an eclipse above means things are also eclipsed here below, releasing obsolete patterns so new ones can come through.)

The work in Portals is dedicated to the honoring and protection of the Waters of our Earth, seen and unseen. We ARE water… we begin our lives in water, and we follow it out of our mother’s womb. Waters our ancestors knew, that we know now, that our children’s grandchildren will know: one timeless, flowing Circle. Rain, snow, river, sea, plants and trees, fish and birds, four-legged animals and humans: all one Water.
